Typical monday morning. Mad office hour rush as always but I just needed a coffee. These days, I’m trying to get more casual with my street photography, so I’m usually on the tow with an old Sony RX1R in my backpack.

RX1R…this is not the Mark 2. It just 24MP but oh my oh my, it has that 35mm fixed Carl Zeiss lens and from my time with the Mark 1 Leica Q, for my style of shooting, the lens element is more crucial than the sensor element. So, I recently (well….its kind of been 1 year) picked up a pretty bang-on good conditioned RX1R . There is something about the size of this thing and the fact that a full-frame sensor sits inside. I put this next to the X100 series by Fujifilm and I still wonder how Sony cramped a FF sensor in this body.

Its a hot monday in Singapore. Strange thing is the weekend as been pretty wet which signals the end of the year is approaching. I’m in a wrong element of dressing, a pullover pulled over my gym gear. I digress, the Rx1R. Even at the Mark 1, the auto-focus is still pretty reliable for center spot focusing. Anyway, I’m not trying to capture pin sharp pictures, as you can tell. I’m trying to capture life….in motion….and that comes with blur. Or at least in my own artistic eye.

Yes, I enjoy shooting monochrome with my Leica 246. However, the bulk of that thing, sometimes, compared to the Rx1R, which I carry, strapless in my right hand is quite a breath of fresh air. For today. Maybe tomorrow, I will get back to my Leica 246 after seeing this morning’s pictures.

Even indoors, I do find the ISO capabilities more than sufficient for documenting life. Now of course, if I am trying to shoot “8K” pin sharp madness, I might have a different view. However, if I am trying to show you, the reader a slice of my perspective, a hodgepodge of streams of consciousness and how at any one moment, something captures my eye and brings me to the ever present moment, this is how I like my pictures.

It’s been quite an eventful coffee run. I hope you enjoyed my musings and also what the world looks like this morning in a tiny slice of Singapore.

Of course, I do have to end with an obligatory shot of my RX1R, this is afterall, a little rant about this little beauty. Have a great day out there, buddy.
